Packing: What Should I Bring?
Since Premier Patient Housing is a place for short term leasing, we realize you may not know what to pack for your stay in near the Texas Medical Center. Today’s post is meant to be an informative and helpful way to pack for your stay with us. Here are some personal items we think you should be packing when staying with us, as well as some reminders of what to do before you leave.
Packing Important Items
Aside from the basics like toiletries, clothes, phones, and chargers, you may also want to bring additional items along for your stay. Take a look at some items you will not want to forget to pack:
- Pillow – Staying away from real home for a long period of time can be stressful at times. Why not take a comforting item from home with you to make you feel more content? Having your own pillow can bring you the relaxation of feeling like you are in our own bed.
- Swimsuit – Take advantage of Premier Patient Housing’s (website) pool and remember to bring our own swimsuit with you. This way you will not have to purchase one while in Houston. Relax in the pool or by the pool when you have the time.
- Books – If you are interested in reading, definitely remember to bring some books with you for your stay. In your down time, you can let your imagination run wild with a fiction book, or learn more about a topic in a non-fiction book.
- Contact List – Whether this contact list is in your phone or written down on paper, you should remember to bring a list of contacts with you. You may want to keep in touch with people during this time.
- Deck of Cards – At times, you may be wondering “what should I do right now?” In times where you cannot answer this question quickly, cards are always the answer. Play games like war, nickels, go fish, and more. Your time will pass very quickly with a deck of cards.
Other Things to Consider
Aside from packing, you may have the responsibility of getting our own property ready to leave behind for a period of time. When leaving your home for a duration of time you should consider doing the following tasks:
- Have the post office hold your mail
- Stop newspaper deliveries
- Arrange lawn care
- Empty the fridge of items that can expire while you are gone
- Unplug appliances
- Lock all the doors and windows
- Store left valuables in a safe place
- Let a friend know that you will be gone for a duration of time
After making your lists of things to do before you get to Premier Patient Housing, we hope you can well prepare yourself to stay with us. Our apartments are a great place to stay in Houston. If you have not already reserved an apartment, take a look today.
