Love is at Discovery Green

Bring your love bug to Discovery Green’s The House (Heart) for a Love Is reservation. For only 15 dollars, this event will include a valentine poem written by the HSPVA Creative Writing Department Studio Writers, a commemorative photo by artist Yahaira Dehill and a discount to The Grove restaurant’s Valentine’s Dessert Bar. The event starts on Friday, February 12th, from 5-8 p.m. 

7th Annual Love Ride at D&W Lounge

Are you and your sweetheart more of the outdoorsy type? Join D&W Lounge and East End Bike Ride for its 7th Annual Love Ride. Couples can ride around and explore love-themed murals around the city. The event starts Sunday, February 14, at noon until 4 p.m. with no cover charge. 

Rooftop Wine Dinner at Liberty Kitchen Treehouse

Are you looking for some movie romance? Bring your dearest to a Rooftop Wine Dinner at Liberty Kitchen Treehouse on Saturday, February 13, and Valentine’s day, Sunday, February 14th. Couples will en a four-course wine dinner complete with live music and raffle prizes from Kendra Scott Jewelry. Seating is only available at 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 8 p.m. each day. 

Romance Under the Sea at Downtown Aquarium

Go under the sea with your sweetie pie at Downtown Aquarium for a romantic meal. For $100, couples will enjoy a four-course meal with a bottle of wine included. Call Downtown Aquarium to reserve your seat all weekend long, starting on Saturday, February 13th. 

Tapas on the Trails at Houston Arboretum

There’s nothing more romantic than holding your beloved’s hand while taking a walk. On Saturday, February 13th, you can do just that at the Houston Arboretum right after a deliciously prepared dinner. Couples will be able to taste gourmet tapas along with perfectly curated wines from around the world. Once you finish dinner, enjoy a safe, distanced walk from other guests through the softly lit forest trails under the moonlight. This event will begin at 5 p.m. at $105 for couples 21 and older. 

Valentine’s Dinner presented virtually by Underbelly

They say the best meal is the one cooked with love. Do just that with your love with this A Peche-Inspired Valentine’s Day Dinner. Join Chef Chris Shepherd and his wife Lindsey Brown in recreating this New Orleans inspired meal presented by Underbelly. For $200, couples will receive a meal kit and will have the option of adding Chris and Lindsey’s exceptional wine and cocktail picks. This event will begin at 6 pm on Saturday, February 13 online.

Monster Jam at NRG Stadium

Need to find an exciting way to entertain the kids? Look no further; Monster Jam is back! Featuring the legendary Grave Digger, families will be able to enjoy freestyle stunts and daring racing competitions in a socially distanced atmosphere. Tickets start at $20 starting Saturday, February 13th. 

Houston’s Lunar New Year Celebrations | Year of the OX

Celebrate the Lunar New Year with your family virtually or in-person with these next activities.

Chinese Community Center – The Chinese Community Center will be celebrating this year with a virtual Lunar New Year Festival from Thursday, February 11th to Saturday, February 13th. Festivities will include broadcasts of cultural dances, musical performances, crafts, and food demonstrations.

Asia Society Texas Center – Asia Society Texas Center will be virtually welcoming the Year of the Ox with performances, art and craft activities, and food inspired by Lunar New Year traditions across Asia! Celebrations will begin on February 12th and will be available until February 26th. All activities will be free to the public and include learning how to make dumplings, making ox hats and viewing musical performances. 

Ginger Kale at Hermann Park – Ginger Kale will be welcoming the Lunar New Year with a live dragon dance performance at Hermann Park on February 13th at 2 p.m. Guests will be asked to wear facemasks to keep this event safe. 

Woodlands Children’s Museum – Join Woodlands Children’s Museum on February 11th at 11 a.m. for their Shadow Puppet Theatre this week. They will be reading “My First Chinese New Year by Karen Katz. The audience will be able to interact directly with each other while enjoying the interactive shadow show.

Music Illustrated: Virtual Reality in Concert

Ready for a music experience like no other? Join the Houston Symphony all weekend long for a first-of-its-kind event featuring Google’s virtual reality technology at Jones Hall. The Houston Symphony will be performing all-time favorites like Clair de Lune while artist Topher Sipes creates life-sized masterpieces live. This concert will be available in Livestream format and in at Jones Hall. Tickets start at $34.

Seismique Interactive Art Museum

Do you live for Instagram worthy pictures? You are in luck! This weekend, experience the brand new Seismique Interactive Art Museum in West Houston. Visitors will be welcomed by over 40 unique and interactive out of this world exhibits and galleries generated by millions of LED lights, colors and sounds all created by 24 established and emerging artists. The museum will be open daily except for Tuesdays and Holidays. General admission is $35 for adults and $28 for children 12 and under.

Alley Theatre presents A Half Sheet of Paper

Rather stay in and enjoy a performance? The Alley Theatre has a perfect night planned for you. Join Alley Theatre for their performance of A Half Sheet of Paper, a poignant short story about a man that stumbles across a sheet of paper that he finds in his apartment as he is moving out. Streaming is free with registration now until Sunday, February 14th.
