If you are in Houston for any of the next month and a half, an absolute must-see event will be occurring throughout the end of March. Officially declared the world’s largest livestock show and rodeo, the mega-event taking place in central Houston is one of the most memorable parts of the city. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo span from March 3rd to March 22nd and consists of deliciously Texan food, family-friendly carnival rides and games, and so much more.

Be sure to wear your best Texan attire like cowboy boots and hats, and come ready to have a good time! The carnival is just the beginning of the incredible event, as what follows inside the NRG Stadium is what really brings the crowd in. Internationally famous musicians, predominantly of country music backgrounds, come from around the world to put on the best show you have ever seen. This year’s musical acts include Willie Nelson, Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan, and even popular rapper Lizzo.

Before the music takes place, there are traditional rodeo events like bull riding, horseback riding, and racing, calf wrangling and dozens more. Participants from all around the country compete to see who is the best at their respective events, and the festivities are a wonder to watch live.

However, a major fan favorite of this event has to be the out-of-this-world caliber of food, which ranges from delicious barbecue to fried-desserts. Fried Oreos are one of the more popular items, as well as turkey legs, sausage on a stick, and local Tex-Mex dishes. Houston, Texas is famous for being one of the best cities for food in the entire country, and this epic event puts every bit of that claim on display.
