People enjoying art at a museum.

The most interesting and widely-attended area for educational museums is in the Museum District of Houston! Located near Montrose and Hermann Park is the historical Museum District that features many noteworthy attractions worth seeing. The area is walking distance from Premier Patient Housing and is accessible to all nearby facilities.

One of the most popular includes the Houston Museum of Natural Science, which includes a dinosaur hall, a planetarium, IMAX theater, and a butterfly exhibit. Every aspect of these exhibits and attractions are fascinating and meant for the whole family. With food, drinks and gift shop items available inside, you can get free days in the museum on certain days of the week depending on what specials are available. There are three floors of exhibits with top of the line historical artifacts, numerous animal habitat exhibits and much to enjoy and learn.

Immediately next door to the science museum is the Museum of Fine Arts, which features art from around the world broken into different eras and countries of origin. Multiple sections of the museum are categorized into art from each continent or specific culture, and there is a wide variety of rare works. There are beautiful sculpture gardens, artworks from famous painters like Pablo Picasso and Vincent Van Gogh. For those hard of hearing, there are self-guided walking tours of the entire facility with headphones that can be used on site.

In the same area of the city, there is also the Children’s Museum of Houston, Hermann Park, and a Hermann Park Golf Course. Each area is vastly popular and is worth taking a trip to for a true Houstonian experience. We hope you are able to venture out for a bit from the Medical District to explore some of the most intriguing and exciting parts of the city!
