Multiple SclerosisWhat is Multiple sclerosis?

Multiple sclerosis is a disease that impacts the central nervous system – brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. While the exact cause of Multiple sclerosis, or MS, is unknown, doctors do know that a part of the body triggers the immune system to attack the central nervous system. The resulting damage to the brain’s protective layer, or myelin, disrupts the signals to the brain and impedes the ability of the CNS.

Everyone’s experience with the disease is different and the losses may be long or short-term. Due to the unpredictability of MS, any opportunity to raise awareness is crucial to the continued research of this disease.
